Vein & Skin Care Institute uses the new VersaPulse C Aesthetic Laser®, a state-of-the-art system that has been specially designed to treat facial veins and other vascular lesions.
How does the VersaPulse C Laser work?
The laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. Different types of lasers produce different colors of light. The color of light produced by a particular laser is the key to the laser's effect on telangiectasias. The blood in the abnormal vein will absorb the laser light - the absorption of the light converts the energy to heat, which injures and scars the vessel.
Will I get that purple coloring after my treatment?
You shouldn't! The VersaPulse C Aesthetic Laser® produces short, adjustable pulses of light to treat a wide range of vessel diameters at various skin depths. The adjustable pulses minimize the risk of the purplish bruising (purpura) that is a side effect of other lasers.
What does the treatment feel like?
The laser treatment itself feels like numerous little pin-pricks. Most patients do not require anesthesia during the procedure. Topical anesthesia can be provided for those who do. The special VersaSpot Chilled Tip" cools the skin during treatment, enhancing patient comfort. The entire treatment involved no incisions or injections.
What will it look like after the treatment?
The appearance of the treated area immediately after a laser session will vary from patient to patient depending on the extent of treatement. You may see immediate redness, light crusting, or tenderness, all of which disappear in a short time.
